Walbro oder MKIV JZA80 (Twin Turbo) fuel pump? Einbau Probleme?
 

Kann ich bei (m)einer MKIII (Bj. 1992, MT),
welche (noch) die original 440er Düsen und originalen LMM hat,
problemlos anstelle der Serienpumpe die Walbro Benzinpumpe einsetzen?

Hier im Forum fand ich:
Walbro 255
Walbro GSS-341 (with install kit)

Welche denn nun?

Gibt es Probleme beim Einbau?
Im Beitrag:

tauchte die Frage nach den ungeschützten Kontakten auf.
Macht das was, wenn die Kontakte nicht isoliert sind?
Desweiteren schien die Halterung nicht von und nicht für die Mk3 geschaffen zu sein.

Ist das bei der Walbro GSS-341 besser gelöst?

Gibt es noch weitere Probleme beim Einbau?

Bei meiner Suche in USA stieß ich auf folgendes:

"The Walbro is smaller than the stock pump and has a different electrical connector, so you will have to cut the factory wires and crimp the ones that came with the Walbro to them. The black wire on the Walbro connector connects to the ground wire that rivets to the pump bracket inside the tank. The red wire crimps to the wire that comes through the top from outside the tank. Make sure you tie the pump to the bracket with a zip tie or something to hold it in place. I didn't have any zip ties so I just used a piece of 10 gauge solid copper wire with gasoline/oil resistant coating and twisted the ends together with pliers. After about six months, I took this pump out and put it in my 91. It was still held perfectly in place by the copper wire with no play. I don't think zip ties would have held up this good."

Die Walbro ist kleiner, und du musst das Mistteil auch noch irgendwie am Halter befestigen; und die Anschlüsse darfts Du auch ändern!

Nennt sich wohl wieder: plug&play!!!oder was??

Was mich stört, und worüber ich nichts in deutschen Landen gefunden habe:

When you install the Walbro pump, you must remove the restriction at the fuel return line after the stock fuel pressure regulator. It is the 'U' shaped piece bolted to the block under the manifold. The fuel line goes from the fuel pressure regulator down to this U shaped section of metal tubing and then to another rubber gas line. You can either drill out the end of the metal tube or just bypass it with a metal vacuum/gas line coupling. If you remove it, you can get one of my BLOCK OFF PLATES so you can remove the "J" line restriction completely. Make sure you use clamps. This restriction will cause a rise in fuel pressure of about 6 or 7 psi which will probably cause your car to run too rich. I just ran my lines from the hard line from the tank directly to the fuel pulsation damper, then from the fuel rail where the old regulator was to the new AFPR and then out the bottom of the regulator to the hard return line. It takes a little fabrication and a few fittings but gets rid of some clutter and kind of cleans up the engine bay a little. The next thing to do is install a new Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (SX AFPR). If you plan on running much over 12 psi, it is a must.

Ja, wie gesagt, plug&play.
Oder es kommen wieder Aussagen wie: Ist doch ne Sache von 10 Minuten (Wer wird das wohl sein??)

Naja, musst halt Tank ausbauen. Insgesamt hats ca 1-2 Std. gedauert.

Tank ausbauen seh ich mal zunächst nicht als Problem an, sondern nur als notwendiges Übel.
Keine Ahnung, was mich beim Ausbau tatsächlich erwartet.

Aber zu den von mir geschilderten Probleme, siehe 1. Beitrag?

Also zur GSS341 und 255, das ist ein und die selbe. GSS341 ist die Modellnummer, und fördert 255 l/h. Ist so wie Supra und MA70 :D

Habe die Pumpe aber noch nicht eingebaut, kann dazu nix sagen.

schreib halt nicht so viel, dann hättest Du einen besseren Überblick!

Ich will immer noch deinen "6er im Lotto", den ultimativen CT-26 Turbo ohne Riss und ohne Spiel! Zu deinem Schnäppchenpreis.
Und jeder schwört, dass das was Du sagt, auch stimmt.
Ich geh Dir damit doch schon seit Wochen auf die Eier, aber den Turbo hab ich immer noch nicht!

Zurück zu meinem eigentlichen Anliegen.

Die Walbro ist kein direkter Ersatz für den Einbau; es müssen noch Modifikationen vorgenommen werden, siehe 1. Beitrag.

Von Toysport habe ich erfahren, dass sie JZA80 (Twin Turbo) fuel pump ein direkter Ersatz für die MKIII Fuel Pumpe wäre.

Hat die schon jemand von der MKIII Fraktion eingebaut, und kann dies bestätigen?
Un bringt die auch mehr (anzunehmen, weil ja in MKIV verbaut?)?

Doch das ist nur die eine Hälfte.

Die Frage, ob die MKIV Spritpumpe direkt gegen die MKIII Pumpe ausgetauscht werden kann (direct replacement), ist noch offen.

Und zwar, ohne dass neue Anschlüsse erstellt werden müssen.

Die MKIV-Pumpe passt 1/1!
Du musst nichts ändern.
Ich hab' sie selber drinnen.
